Sego Lily Ward

There are 3 parts to the Ward Mission.

• One part being the work we do in tandem with, and support of the full-time missionaries.

• The next part being the efforts being made specifically by members of the missionary committee.

• And the last part being the efforts made by all members of the ward.

With this in mind, and after reading through the Handbook, here are some focuses and goals of the Sego Lily Ward Mission Plan:

• Help everyone feel welcome in ward meetings and activities.

  • The members of the missionary committee should be used to distribute information and make direct invitations for ward activities.

  • Assign ward missionaries to be greeters for ward activities.

  • Set a goal for each ward member to make one direct invitation per ward activity/community event.

  • Help members experience the joy of sharing the gospel

  • Arrange appointments for youth approaching mission age to teach missionary lessons to primary children approaching baptism.

    • Ideally these appointments would be with members who have children approaching baptism age and someone from the missionary committee would accompany the youth to the lesson and help them prepare a lesson from Preach My Gospel.

    • The youth could also take the lead in visiting and teaching their peers

  • Ward missionaries make regular visits to other ward members that are identified by the ward council and from ward reports.

    • New move in list

    • Unbaptized list

    • Members without callings list

  • Support people being taught by the full-time missionaries

  • The ward missionaries (or ministers/neighbors if that makes more sense) accompany the full-time missionaries to appointments as needed.

  • Invite these individuals/families to church/activities

  • Share information/stay in communication with the full-time missionaries

  • Ask the ward to regularly pray for the full-time missionaries and their efforts.

  • Help new and returning members progress spiritually

  • Invite returning members to attend sacrament meeting & 2nd hour classes, and attend with them.

Other Goals

• Set a goal for how many people (new & returning) we’d like to join our ward by the end of the year.

• Set a goal for how many homes we’d like to have participate in a focus day visit from the full-time missionaries

• Set a goal for how many activities we’ll have in a year.

These increase our opportunity to do outreach.
